That was interesting. Quite sure that they escaped. I didn't mean to hold them. With the little hint I dropped, that mongrel will walk right into my, our, trap.
Elizar walked into the Great Academy of The Order of the Hidden Cortex. As an Inquisitor, he was on the council that was second only to the Archmage. Elizar hoped that that would all change. Once Mortis hears of how he plans to rid the realm of the greatest pest of all, Cyrus, he'd be awarded with the powers and knowledge that would eclipse even the Archmage.
Elizar grinned at these thoughts, but for now he had to listen to a dull meeting of other Inquisitors. They know nothing and are too short-minded. Elizar, comparatively, focused on the grand picture of no resistance to the One. As the Chief Chair of the Council opened his mouth to speak, Elizar yawned a thoroughly unimpressed yawn.

I crouched just around the corner of the Great Academy of The Order of the Hidden Cortex, I had used a seeking dark magic to find my way here. The seeking worked like a golden trail in my vision, that only I could see, that leads me to what I am currently seeking. Mara was in there, according to my trail. Two men stood guard in the front entrance, they should be easy. I peaked around the corner and slinked darkness into both of their eyes, blinding them. Both guards looked puzzled and one asked the other, "You seeing this?" The other replied, "Seeing what? I can't see anything at all!" I swiftly crept in between them both and returned their vision. Then both guards looked at each other and said, "That was weird." I rolled my eyes at their ignorance and continued on in the building.
I mentally made made my vision trail take me around lifeforms, the less confrontations the better. I followed the trail for several minutes, with no mixups. The trail then flashed red, warning me of incoming threat. I ducked into a doorway and as the person walked by I extended my hand and used my power over the wind to grab hold of his neck and and lift him to the wall. He hung there struggling as he couldn't catch his breath. He went wide eyed as he saw me walk from the doorway. With my hand still extended, I clenched my fist, crushing his airway. He went limp and I threw him in a nearby barrel. Close call, but I got this. I'm almost there.
As I walked up to the door, it was glowing golden. Before I went in I cast a spell to alert me of any people coming into the hallway. I was about to open the door, when it opened from the inside. I was face to face with Mara. Her eyes went wide in realization of who it was and she opened her mouth to say something, but I quickly put my hand over it and pulled her into the room. I waved my free hand and the door shut behind me. This looked to be her quarters, so I guided her over to her bed and made her sit. I let go of her mouth and said, "Hi Mara."
She crossed her arms and replied, "What are you doing here?" She looked mad at me. Probably for disappearing, I always hated not telling her where I went. I need to tell her. "Before you sound the alarm, please hear me out." I told her. I continued to explain what had happened to my mother, my father sentencing me to execution, my escape, my life with the Djinn, and recent events. "I came here as soon as I found out where you were. Even though it is dangerous, I had to tell you." She looked stunned and on the verge of tears. She quickly wrapped her hands around me in a embrace, and whispered into my ear. "The day you left your father told me that you killed your mother and that you fled, I never believed him but now that I know for sure, I am so happy you are here. But first things first, we have to get you out of here." As soon as she finished, my vision flashed red. Someone tripped my warning sign for the hallway. Someone was come. I quickly let go of her and looked into her eyes, and said, "I've got to get out of here, now." She replied saying, "Not without me." I grinned, I was glad she was coming. My vision flashed red again, they were getting closer.

Elizar's neck hairs pricked as his warning spell on Mara's door tripped. Perfect. All's going to plan.
Elizar cleared his throat. "Ahem. Excuse my lords, but I have some urgent business to attend to. Turns out some trainee mixed up the spells for animal transformation and spontaneous combustion. Forgive my exit, and I'll check in shortly."
They nodded and slightly smiled at the comment. None guessing to his true intentions. He had to hurry though before the duo escaped or word got to the Council.
He rushed out into the hall and said the spells I had already prepared for this moment. Mostly cheap stuff such as protruding spikes, a few flame jets, and not to forget a labyrinth of corridors which required one on the outside and one on the inside to disspell. Again the cheap stuff, a few surprises were already beginning to form. Elizar told a small squad of five of the best warlords to go into tunnels and take out any escapees or rescuers. All trained to avoid deceptions and to combat djinn magic in addition to their traditional realm of study.
As the trap closed in around the two, Elizar entered the great room in front of the only exit of the labyrinth, waiting beside the two great, stone pillars in the center.

We were running down the hallway towards the exit and all of a sudden a wall appeared right in front of me. I ran face first into the wall and heard a snap, obviously breaking my nose. Gosh, dammit! Who put the wall there!? Mara stopped behind me and gasped, "Are you okay?" I turned to her and nodded painfully, I could feel the blood dripping down my face from my nose. "Watch this." I held up my hand and it roared to life with healing fire. Her eyes went wide as I pressed it on to my nose. I didn't cry out but felt extreme agony as the bone mended and blood disappeared. "Cyrus, that is amazing!" She exclaimed. I nodded and said, "It's pretty cool, I could make you like me and you could do the same?" I asked her. I didn't want to lose her and it is one of the best ways I know for longevity. "Mara, the only reason I would ask for you to become Djinn is I don't want to see you get killed." When I said that I looked to the ground, I couldn't bear to loose her after all of what has happened.
She stood there and thought for a bit. While she thought, I used my seeking vision to find the best and safest way out. It looked like the wall was part of a maze. "Cyrus..." Mara said, snapping me out of my thoughts. "I'd like to be like you." I smiled knowingly and said, "Alright, hold my hands." I extended my hands in front of me and she held them. Repeat after me. "Cursed life, I leave behind. Human body, that inhibits growth. I cast aside. For pure of heart, made spectral hearth. I tend my fire, and cleanse thy soul. For use of darkness, demands clarity." She repeated after me and there was a brilliant flash of white light and you could see in her chest a faint blue glow. She was now like me.
Footsteps. I heard footsteps radiating through the maze, someone was coming. I motioned for Mara to be quiet and we started to creep along the passageway. I met the first mage head on and tackled him. He kicked me off him and pinned me to the ground. Concentrating, I channeled heat over my body till I engulfed in flames. Yelling in surprise the mage jumped off. I then summoned a sword of pure light and slashed him across the chest, spun facing away from him, and thrusted the sword backwards. I heard an urk and a thump as he collapsed to the ground. I motioned with my sword for Mara to follow and we kept going through the labyrinth. We encountered three more mages, of which I killed one and Mara killed the other two. I was surprised she knew enough about magic to fight. I stopped to consult my tracking vision. The path glowed red. It stayed like that and would not turn gold. That meant something or someone was blocking the exit.
We were only halfway through, or at least that is what it felt like. "Well I guess we have to make an exit, It's being blocked at the end." I told Mara. I looked around to see if I could spot another exit. Nothing. I looked at my feet and noticed something: The ground. Ohh yah! The ground, I could tunnel us out. I then looked to Mara, who waiting patiently while I was thinking, and asked, "Hmmm...what enchantments are on the ground?" She replied, "Mostly enchantments to ward off major dark magics, but minimal light magics." I guess they didn't plan having light magics used for fighting and destruction. Good thing. I then summoned two pure light swords and hacked into the ground. It stood at first but eventualy crumbled to my blows.
15 minutes later
As my last strike hit the wall in front of me, the tunnel I dug for us became flooded with light. Ahh, fresh air! "Hurry, we need to go." I told Mara and we started to run from the Academy.

Stupid humans. I'll just do it the hard way then.
Elizar called upon the wind to carry himself outside with a humanoid bound and gagged. They flew through the air until they landed in front of the escaping duo. He called to the pursuing guards to halt.
"Well I see you navigated those obstacles quite nicely, but you missed the show. I'm sure you don't need introducing , but this is Queen Gallia-" The mage jerked off the veil. "-Your mother. Yes, she nearly was dead. It was those 5 minutes that threw everyone, but I found her and kept her alive. And for what?. This!"
The mage called upon a great storm, one not seen in years, perhaps centuries. Calling a lightning bolt straight to the Queen. She was instantly vaporized with little in the way of ashes for memorial, all scattered in the wind.
"That is for you, yes, you! All of these years, I wanted a father to be proud of my abilities, one who's excuse for sending me was not 'to keep me safe from assassination.' I can do that just fine. But you. You! You turned your back on a man who would've appreciated you for this. For studying the ways of fear and control. Things most believe to be nightmares. How could you be so lucky and turn away from it? Fool! Then to steal my own birth father away and rob me of your vengeance."
The wind grew faster and the ground, even the Academy walls, started to shake except Elizar who kept walking towards the escapees.
"All of this is worthy of my wrath which is not even begun to pour out!"

I growled at the thought of my mother, she may have been alive but now she was gone. The same as before, so it didn't move me much. "Go ahead, take your 'wrath' out on a sixteen year old kid. So high and mighty!" I said rolling my eyes. "My father never appreciated me, so I had nothing to turn away from. Just leave us be, you have already shown me that I can't beat you." Sensing I wasn't getting anywhere. I quickly grabbed Mara and make her disappear in a flash of white light. She is safe now. I crumpled to my knees, exhausted. Teleportation, leaves one exausted and it can kill if multiple people are transfered. "Now I am satidfied." I said with as I coughed up blood.

As the mage's storm grew more and more wild so did Raiju. A lightning bolt came down that was not summoned by the mage. the lightning bolt was much larger that the lightning bolts the mage could produce. the bolt landed righton top of the mage knocking him on his back. As Raiju stood on his chest his paw prints were burned into his Dragon armor.

"Augh! Ouch! Get your stupid pet off me!"
He two wrestled. With teeth and claws showing, Elizar knew he couldn't match it in force. He summoned enough wind to knock the creature off and onto a nearby orc that was scouting the area.
"Go get him, beast. I have to get going." He sneered. "Or I'll miss tea with your father. Or was it Mara. I keep forgetting."

I had to suppress a laugh when that lightning.... thing... fell on Elizar. No need to anger him anymore than I already have. I now have more than just me to worry about. "Go get him, beast. I have to get going." Elizar sneered. "Or I'll miss tea with your father. Or was it Mara. I keep forgetting." Anger flashed in my eyes, and the flame in my chest grew brighter. No, Cyrus. Not now. Remember, Mara. "Goodby, and I hope one day you see the light to my father's tyranny and come to the right side." I said to Elizar, regarding his departure. I turned and started to run of a pace I could keep at until I got to where I sent Mara. I wanted to get away from Elizar, but mostly the lightning thing. It kinda creeped me out....

As the mage blew me away from him there just happened to be an orc in the way. Since i am made of lightning and can move just as fast if i want to. Still in the air i position my self to jump off the orc's face and stop the fleeing man. As i start to land on the orc's face i push with my hind legs and leap from his face killing it instantly. i am now flying towards where the man fleeing is and land just in front of him.
