(Other visual depictions coming in due time, methinks. )
Name: Ashima DeLonia
Race: Mixed Heritage
(Explained a bit below, but for simplicities sake, we'll say she's a budding Mage with ancestry of fire and water creatures - like those of fire nymphs and mermaids.)
Age: 19
Region: The Kingdom of Delatha
(A land far across the sea from here. And to be clear, her status has no power here, no does she want anyone to know her true status.)
Gender: Female
Skills: Unbeknownst to her, she contains a plethora of skills she’s apparently inherited by blood. The watery and fiery powers of her unknown ancestors, as well as the medicine and spiritual skills of her other ancestors. However, she has yet to discover her talents. Being stuck behind palace walls her entire life doesn’t allow much opportunity for exploration and discovery.
Description:
Height – 5’2” --- Weight – 110lbs
Build: Thin but very curvy. Waspy, yet toned.
Bust: 33” --- Waist: 22” --- Hips: 36”
Hair: Kept up in a high bun. Reaches her elbows when down. Reaches her rear end when wet or straight. Her hair is insanely curly with low sheen, high frizz, and blue streaks in the bangs and nape.
Personality: Her curiosity tends to get the best of her. She questions everything, yet still winds up stumped by her own naiveté. She makes regular (usually futile) attempts at behaving like the royalty she was raised to be, but it’s like crass tendencies seem to run in her veins.
Weaknesses: I’d say her inexperience is her greatest foe. Her mother (the previous Empress of Delatha) passed away before Ashima felt fully prepared to take the throne. That’s one reason she has adventured her from across the sea: On a journey of experience and exploration.
Weapons:
As a child that grew up in the royal city, it is only expected of her to be skilled with blades. She is rather skilled with blades of all kinds. She also rather handy with bows and arrows (being short, she likes to use them to get fruit from trees, so she’s had ample practice) as well as an assortment of herbal mixtures she uses for everything from sedation to psychotropic hallucinations. She doesn’t know about her ‘other’ talents yet (those of spirit, fire, and water).
Background:
Short Version – The Kingdom she travelled from has only recently (and just barely) survived a civil war that was started due to a few major screw ups by her adopted mothers (the previous Empress of Deltha, Empress Armia’s) grand-parents. Armia passed away, leaving Ashima to the throne alone with no siblings and no known blood relatives (she was adopted as an infant). Her reason for venturing away from her homelands? Exploration and information. She has a haunch that she might stumble on something (or someone) here that can help her restore the peace her homelands once honored over 100 years ago… Well, that and she was only recently granted her full freedoms and total control of the treasuries. So, why not visit the rest of the world?? Unbeknownst to her this land is at war with itself as her land will be once again if she doesn't come up with a fast and viable solution or distraction.
Long Version – Long ago… (Prepare yourself for an enduring read…)
The daughter of the Vivaldis rule studied her way in to a higher position of nobility. As a family that worked for the empires rule, the Vivaldis' were just a few rungs of the latter away from being eligible to wed into royalty.
They had important reasons for doing so as well.
They were the only ones that knew about the mistakes they'd made in the labs. Their plan was to marry off their daughter to the Prince of the Empire and save her from the uproar that was likely to happen once their mistakes had gotten too far out of hand. They would also use this leverage to try and push the blame onto the Empire, in an attempt to save themselves some harm.
Most of their plan worked. By the time the upheaval began, their daughter was well in the throne. The Empires fortress in Minide was just barely strong enough to keep the attacks at bay. Unfortunately for the Vivaldis family, they were not spared. The young princess' parents were never to be seen again. No one knows what happened to them or their remains.
Years passed as the Vivaldis princess sat on the throne, and soon enough, she had a daughter. This young girl went on to become, Empress Armia.
After many more years, and thanks to many unforeseen tragedies, Armia became Empress. Unfortunately for her, the people were still livid about what her grand-parents had done in the labs and the chaos it had caused. So, they willingly blamed her for each mysterious death in the royal family of the Empire.
This troubled her deeply. So much so, that she became barren in all of her grief. After many miscarriages and failed attempts at conception. She began to look and feel sickly and she knew she would not last on the throne for long. With Delatha's Empire being matriarchal, she knew it would only disturb the people more if she left the throne without a single heiress.
Her and her consorts devised a plan to soothe the hearts and minds of the civilians, and provide an heiress to the throne at the same time. She would adopt a child from the most conservative, traditional area in Deltha: Chansana.
Armia's consorts visited the land of Chansana, and brought back a little girl with an irresistible story.
As the tale goes, the girls mother was from a long line of Chansanan dancers. Her father was a man from Coroporo that had dedicated himself to the beliefs of Chansana shortly after his arrival in their town. The girls mother wed him enthusiastically, and was soon pregnant with his child.
Unfortunately, the man was not loyal to such beliefs, and was soon back on his usual path to and from Coroporo as a salesman.
Life was suddenly very hard for the childs mother. She was expecting a child in just a few months and no respectable man would take her as his wife. Not long after the disappearance of the father, she gave birth to the girl, and named her Ashima.
This girl was very unsual, however. Her eyes were a bright blue like many of the water-loving people of Vivaldis' had turned after the tragedies of the lab. Her skin was light brown with a hint of red, suggesting fiery Hamaru heritage, and her hair was vastly curly and jet black with streaks of indigo blue and violet.
Not long after giving birth, the troubled mother of the mystery child was found dead in the temple gardens, baby in her arms as she lay on her side near the fountain.
Some say she gave herself up as a sacrifice to the Matron Goddess of Chansana, and in return for such servitude, her unique daughter was granted the position of princess when Armia adopted the child.
The story of the child had grown popularity rather quickly, and the consorts of Empress Armia could not resist to pluck her from the hands of the temple priestesses who had reluctantly taken her in as the temples own infant.
Armia had also adopted 2 other girls before she ever knew of Ashima. One girl, from Minide, was 13, and was kidnapped and given to a group of revolutionaries who took her to Hamaru and slaughtered her as a show of their tact and lack of desire for the Empire's reign. The other, sold to the queen as an ex-slave from Hamaru, was already 17, and poisoned herself in a fit of teenage angst as a way to rebel against the Empire. As she saw it, it was the Empire that created the heathens in Hamaru that stole her from her real family in Coroporo and forced her into slavery.
Ashima grew up knowing very well that she did not belong to Armia by blood. She studied daily to put in her mind the things that other Minide-born children seemed to know in their bones. Things like curtsies and dining etiquette.
One of her adopted sisters had killed herself in her hatred towards the people that adopted her, and the other was killed by people who hated the empire. She never got to meet either of them...
Surrounded by the stories of her deceased birth-parents and her would-be siblings, she felt destined to love a life torn in two.
Ashima's adopted mother, Armia, passed away at a very young age. The diplomatic dilemmas and slews of lost children took their toll on her weak heart. Now, at the age of 19, Ashima bears the weight of the kingdom of Delatha on her tiny shoulders.
For fear of her death or undoing, she was kept sheltered in the kingdoms palace her entire life, until 3 days after her mother passed. The funeral was held in Moroh.
Ashima DeLonia is the present Empress of Delatha.
Her goal for the land is still undecided...
Depending on the actions that take place, she could sway it back into the wondrous land it was during the reign of Miko DeLone, or she could let it plummet into a chaos worse than that caused by the science of the Vivaldis'...
